Attorney Beltran has represented various clients litigating first amendment and defamation claims. Among others, Beltran has handled the following engagements:

-Representing former Speaker-Designate of the Florida House of Representatives (and former Ballard Partners Lobbyist), asserting defamation claims arising from false sexual allegations by disgraced Central Florida politician and others.

-Representing creator of “Let’s Go Brandon” cryptocurrency in litigation against NASCAR involving defamation and contract claims arising from NASCAR’s revocation of LGB coin’s sponsorship of NASCAR Racer Brandon Brown.

-Representing officials from nonprofit conservative foundation founded by physicians opposed to COVID lockdowns. Handling defamation claims and counterclaims arising from management of foundation.

-Representing prominent conservative real estate and tech investor in litigation with former business partner involving management of billion-dollar claims, including defamation counterclaims.

-Represented several county commission and state representative candidates in litigation involving defamatory campaign mailers and advertisements.

-Persuaded numerous media entities to correct information published regarding ballot ouster case involving wealthy businessman running against Tampa Congresswoman Cathy Castor. (Also won ballot ouster case on appeal after serving as lead trial counsel, and obtained client’s reinstatement to ballot before election day.)

-Served as lead counsel in a trial resulting in a favorable verdict for a defamation Plaintiff seeking damages in connection with false report to authorities resulting in investigation of client for criminal charges. Overcame qualified privilege law in Florida to uphold verdict after post-trial briefing.

-Successfully briefed issues related to a defamation claim against a construction contractor who published a website exposing a manufacturer of dangerous highway safety devices.  The manufacturer agreed to dismiss its claims and was ordered by the court to pay attorneys fees to Attorney Beltran’s client. The resolution of the defamation claims later paved the way for a nine-figure whistleblower verdict in favor of Beltran’s client and against the manufacturer.

-Represented SeaWorld Trainer Dawn Brancheau’s family in their successful effort to maintain the confidentiality of a video depicting the deadly whale attack at SeaWorld.

-Counseled wealthy and politically-connected family in connection with defamation claims involving false accusations of crimes arising from disputes over management of family’s extensive lands and businesses.

-Handled litigation by auction house against home shopping television host who defamed the auction house on live television. Obtained favorable settlement at close of fact discovery.
